Championship Wrestling from Florida (CWF) was a prominent professional wrestling promotion based in Florida. It was founded by Eddie Graham in 1961 and operated until the late 1980s. CWF was one of the top territories in the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), which was the governing body for many wrestling promotions in North America.
Under Eddie Graham's leadership, CWF became known for its innovative storytelling and the development of many legendary wrestlers. It was considered one of the premier territories for wrestling talent, with stars like Dusty Rhodes, Jack Brisco, and Terry Funk passing through its ranks.
CWF held events across Florida, including in cities like Tampa, Miami, Orlando, and Jacksonville. These events often drew large crowds and were televised throughout the region, further solidifying CWF's status as a major wrestling promotion.
While CWF eventually ceased operations in the late 1980s, its legacy continues to influence professional wrestling today, and many of its alumni are revered as icons of the sport.
